In my discussions with them it sounded like it was done in a way that is very unobtrusive and simply takes up the time a phone would otherwise be ringing. Not a bad idea in my opinion.

Sort of feels like Times Square. What piece of real estate is left to put up an ad? Short ads during the VOIP ring? Depending on how its done, it could be acceptable or annoying.

Ads in general are being avoided. We fast forward our Tivos and listen to commercial free internet radio. Be careful with those ring ads.
