This is an interesting move, I hope it’s true. The music biz is starting to experiment with new models and ways of thinking and the likes of Merrill on hand at EMI can only be a good thing. At We7, we’ve just signed a deal with Sony BMG, which is a great landmark for us and the shape of things to come for everyone. We know that free works with a smart business model, and so does Merrill, so I look forward to seeing what this means for EMI and music fans.

This totally makes sense. The music labels need all the help they can get finding a new business model. They totally regret killing Napster.
