MLB.TV has one MAJOR flaw that I find infuriating. It uses your billing address to determine if you should be blacked out or not. This is utterly rediculous. I subscribe to MLB.TV so I can watch my home town team when I'm away from home; yet, I cannot. So regardless of the fact that I'm 900 miles from Chicago, I can't watch my Chicago teams. This really sucks!

Ummm....MLB doesn't have an Exclusive contract with Directv.

The idea was floated around but Congress stepped in and did not allow it to happen.

Many cable providers carry MLB Extra Innings.

I'm having trouble just seeing highlights on MLB.com video. The video simply will not play. I click to see something, and when the page loads there is just a black video screen but nothing happens. Anyone else experiencing this problem/know how to fix it?

Last year, because Major League Baseball's stupid exclusive contract with DirecTV, I couldn't get Extra Innings on Dish Network anymore. So I thought I'd give MLB.TV a try. Waste of time because as it turned out, it wouldn't work on my Mac. Hey, MLB, people with Macs watch baseball too, has this never occured to you? I tried it on an old PC laptop I bought for $50 and it was slow and the picture sucked and I spent most of the time watch it "buffering", completely useless. This year, I switched from Dish Network to DirecTV just so I could get Extra Innings again. Nice to have games in HD now...can't believe anyone is wasting time with MLB.TV anymore...

There have been many blackout issues with mlb.tv too. I'm in philly and was blacked out of the cubs-sox games. If you're considering purchasing, go and read the mlb.tv help forums first, where there are countless complaints from customers. I'm with Rob, don't waste your money. If you're lucky you might get a choppy video feed with a 10 minute delay

Compared to the webcast of the US Open, MLB is in the dark ages.......the US Open was incredible quality, almost as good as a TV......very impressive. MLB Premium is choppy, I have a fast connection and still miss half the plays.

I had same issue with sudden blue screen and no video. I finally went to Mozilla Firefox and uninstalled Explorer and now everything works. Though, while I pay for Premium subscription, the quality at 800k isn't that great even with 24" screen (HPw2408).

Gameday Audio isn't working either. Contacting mlb.com with specific inquiries only earns you a referral to mlb.com FAQ's - which obviously do not help. It is frustrating this far along into the season -- especially since Gameday Audio worked fine during Spring Training.
