Despite being very excited by the thought of Joost, when I eventually got to try it (on my parents’ new Mac Intel desktop because it doesn’t work on my pre-Intel Powerbook) I was overwhelmed by the trashy quality of the programming. I haven’t been back since. Apparently I am not alone.

I think it’s too early for video, and in the near future, scripted, direct to web professional productions (shorts) are going to be king. It won’t be easily monetized, but at least it’ll be sticky – which few video sites have done well yet but will.
