The optical sensor is what detects the light levels to dim or brighten the display based on ambient light.

It does not imply a video camera like you were thinking.

@MAR – Interesting that TheStreet and MadMoney have two different accounts. I would believe that you’re right, but what is Cramer doing calling it a new Mac product (it’s been around for years) with a new name (i’ve never heard ‘Conversation’). Either Cramer is completely out of touch with Apple or let something slip about a potential feature of the new iPhone. We’ll see.

I think Cramer was referring to in his segment was video iChat, he just didn’t know the name of it. http://www.cnbc.com/id/24240381
