Six Apart bloggers get VideoEgg’s interactive ads

videoeggHere’s another way to make money from blogging — maybe. If you’re a blogger who uses Six Apart’s software and services, you can now start running VideoEgg’s interactive “AdFrame” format. These ads, like the toolbar-style “Twig” that VideoEgg introduced in April, contain more interactive elements than traditional banner ads. They intend to get more attention from readers than traditional online banner ads do.

More user attention means more money that VideoEgg and its partners can charge for that attention. Twig, for example, is located at the top or bottom of web pages, and pops open to reveal videos or other interactive material when a reader mouses over it. When a reader, say, watches a video in Twig, VideoEgg charges the advertiser for the action.

Six Apart is introducing Twig to the lineup of third-party advertising services it already makes available to bloggers. It will share revenue with VideoEgg and the individual blogger.
