Xobni launches an enterprise version of its improved email inbox

xobni_logoXobni, the company that improves Microsoft’s email application Outlook by showing you more data about your contacts, is aiming for bigger and bigger customers — it just announced an enterprise version, which includes new features like integration with Salesforce.com’s sales application and Microsoft’s SharePoint collaboration technology.

After spending almost a year in beta testing, Xobni launched its first non-test version in March of this year, followed by Xobni Plus, a version that users paid for, which included features like improved search and AutoSuggest. The big vision is to make email more useful by unearthing useful background information (like past conversations) while you’re writing your message, then to add (and charge for) tools that make the application more and more business-friendly.

Client_w_extensionsXobni Enterprise additions include a web portal where a company’s IT managers can manage all the user accounts, the aforementioned integration with Salesforce and SharePoint, and the ability to add custom extensions of your own. As for pricing, the San Francisco company says Xobni Enterprise has “pricing options to fit the needs of any business.”

Xobni has raised more than $14 million from incubator Y Combinator, Khosla Ventures, Cisco Systems, First Round Capital, Baseline Ventures, Atomico Investments, BlackBerry Partners Fund, and others. The company says its plug-in has been downloaded more than 3 million times, and is already used by employees in 80 percent of the Fortune 500 list of companies — now, presumably, it wants to sell a pricier version to those companies.

Searchtools are very important for Outlook-users. I read a few articles about searchtools for outlook today and it seems to be a necessity for a lot of people to use one of these tools. Especially in companies.
My favourite one is Lookeen. It works with Exchange in all versions and companies can distribute this tool for their users with Group Polices. It also works with sharepoint. Thats perfect for companies and there are some more features. For more informations, please visit http://www.lookeen.net
